While I don't know any tips for firing the engine, I do have to say, good job, and keep it up. The world needs more cars like this.

Oil level is good
battery is charged
timing looks right
fuel in the tank
don't expect it to fire right up. If it does, Awesomesauce. If not, keep spinning the starter in 10 second increments, giving it a 5-10 second rest in between. If it doesn't fire after a good prime and 3-4 attempts, stop and diagnose. If it fires right up first try(within first 5 seconds) congratulations. You may or may not be a small god.
that is about all I can think of.

If you can, spin the oil pump without the engine running to prime the pump, this can be done with a drill.
Other than that, try to have everything be as lubricated as possible, timing set correctly, don't hydrolock the engine by being too rich, and let 'er rip.

I usually hear about using a very light weight break in oil and probably fogging the upper cylinders with fogging oil?

The valves man, the valves! You gotta make sure that they're probably adjusted before it fires. And since you've got hydralic lifters, they can be a bitch to adjust if they don't have any pressure in them. Easiest way to build up pressure is to disconnect the distruputor and run the engine on the starter a couple of seconds until they're firm. Then you can set them right, and then you can start it if everything else oooks good.
